Leaving Grapevine...

We've been joined here in the Grapevine Vineyards Campground by many, many little RV's of the Sisters On The Fly - fly fisherwomen. Very friendly, happy cowgirls!
But that's not why we are leaving...we hate to leave this wonderful campground but we have places to go, people to see, things to do, miles to cover.

The Vineyards Campground in Grapevine, TX

We have just a few more days in the Dallas/Fort Worth area before moving on, so we are now at one of our favorite campgrounds. The weather is beautiful today and we are entertaining guests Jim and Cheryl Heath for dinner this evening (ready to drink a little wine and partake of some pork tenderloin). Grapevine is just north of DFW airport and quite centrally located to many attractions. We hiked this morning and plan to take a bike ride tomorrow morning.

Dallas

Our view out our RV windows now is water all around us, on a peninsula in Grapevine Lake, with a marina full of sailboats in front of us. Hiking and biking trails are in the neighborhood as well as good shopping and restaurants. Beautiful part of Dallas, this is.

Had dinner last night with my nephew Josh and his friend Kyle at a great seafood restaurant. Yesterday morning was a wonderful 9 mile bike ride around White Rock Lake, one of the best bike trails we've ever ridden. The lake to our right dotted with sailboats, beautiful homes with sweeping lawns to our left and red-winged blackbirds connecting the two, flying across the bike path in front of me.

3 more nights planned here seeing friends then we'll move on to Canton's First Mondays, home of the world's largest Trading Days (AKA ... swapmeet). I can hardly wait!
