Busy day...

Ft. Sumner, NM - memorial of the 1863-1868 Navajo Long Walk. Not talked about for many years, and I am sure not taught to us in American History classes, Americans including Colonel Kit Carson marched 8,000+ Navajos from Canyon de Chelly area for 450 miles across New Mexico to live in virtual captivity at Bosque Redondo. About 20% of the Navajo population died during this 5 year period before they were allowed to walk home in 1868.

Lubbock, TX - Buddy Holly Center with tons of his personal memorabilia on display in a gallery shaped like the inside of a guitar, all his music playing in the background, and a great 15 minute movie about his short 22 year life. Well worth a stop!
Lubbock is nice with its huge, beautiful Texas Tech Univ.
We like their Prairie Dog Town, too.
